Those looking to bottom feed and get great deals aren’t having much luck, according to this article from HOMES Arkansas. Key quote:

Realtors here in the Natural State have mentioned that homeowners are generally receiving about 98 percent of their asking price when they sell their houses. That’s more or less in line with what’s happening in most markets around the country.

Now, that may not include REOs which don’t reach the realtors. Although I haven’t seen the banks that eager to dump yet. And the auctions I have attended haven’t resulted in huge bargains, at least with regard to houses. I imagine undeveloped land or even platted and lotted subdivisions are a different story. Still a lot of inventory of those, at least in NW Arkansas.
